CBL#153 – Sexual Healing as a pathway through Crisis

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Rod and Anita Nairne share their dramatic story of healing following the death of their only son. They went from being a conservative middle-aged couple to provocative sexual surrogates as they expanded their sexual nature to heal others. It is a remarkable story. They emphasize the importance of fantasy in intimate relationships. Coach Betty shares a WHOA baby where a report from the UK showed that Runway models meet the BMI criteria for anorexia. WHOA Baby!! Listen to the whole show by clicking the listen button.

Life was torn apart by the accidental death of Anita and Rod’s 16-year-old, only child. Their world became a circle with no corner to hide: A noose that slowly, over many years, strangled all desire to maintain their established life. From the beginning, they refused to acknowledge the potential of sexual closure, common to such tragedy. Their intimacy evolved in ways few therapists consider. Constantly expanding their sexual boundaries provided the highly charged spiritual fuel necessary to meld.

Thirteen years after their son’s death, Rod sold his busy chiropractic office. They designed an unorthodox, emotionally charged focus: A profession where they could work together while continuing to help others. Combining their skills of Chiropractic and Art Therapy, Rod and Anita made a dramatic choice to go where few will ever consider; a place far too emotionally dangerous for most. For ten-years they worked as Sexual Surrogates creating a private, safe and clean environment for women, men and couples to experience their sexual fantasies. During those years their relationship flourished. Their sexual knowledge and compassion for others increased dramatically as they physically and emotionally (always together) explored the sexual dreams of thousands.

Combining these ten-years of sexual research with their journey in search of an existence for their son is the focus of Rod and Anita’s book, Love is For Sharing: A passionate autobiography contrasting their battle through grief with the humor and ever expanding vitality of sex; this is an erotic book for modern couples wishing to break apart stereotyped walls of gender biased communication.

Rod and Anita have been married for 44-years.  www.loveisforsharing.com.

CBL#149 – Sidney Andrews and Authentic Living

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

My guest, Sidney Andrews, encourages people to "Make a difference, instead of seeing a difference." Her compelling memoir documenting leaving her marriage and children to live with the woman of her dreams and a lesbian lifestyle is a story of courage and faith. She had to look inward deeper than she ever had before to find her authentic truth and then live it as an outcast initially. "The rewards are worth the price," she told me. To listen to the show in it's entirety, click listen below. It includes a WHOA Baby on how heads of models are being put on digitally generated bodies in advertising!!!

Sidney Andrews, author of "A Fall to New Heights,"  is a psychology graduate, retired nurse, motivational speaker, author and recipient of an Honorable Mention Award from the Hollywood Book Festival. She has a daily column called "Ask Sidney," on the Treasure Coast Happens, an online newspaper, covering the Treasure Coast in Florida. Her website is www.sidney-andrews.com.

Her call to action:

Awareness brings knowledge, knowledge brings understanding, and understanding awakens us to living a life of compassion, tolerance and respect for all people. Look deeper then your physical eyes can see. Look at each other through the eyes of spirit.

Don't just simply judge another for their look, dress, lifestyle or sexual preference; talk with them and listen to their feeling, fears, hopes and dreams, because you'll find, they're not unlike your own.

Take on the challenge of living the best life that you envision for yourself, and allow others the same opportunity.
