The delightful Karen Parsegian is a blind woman who knows that anything is possible. She shares her vision of what is meaningful and important in life. Her list of adventures since she went blind include throwing out the first pitch at a San Francisco Giant baseball game, whitewater rafting, and flying on a trapeze on Santa Monica pier. She talks about what it took to overcome the challenges of blindness and live an even a more fulfilling life.

Karen Parsegian

Karen Parsegian, found herself blind in 2002 when complications from an accident to one eye left her unexpectedly and totally blind in both. With more than 25 years of corporate and non profit experience under her belt, Karen now considers herself a work in progress and a student of reinventability. She speaks to schools and groups around the country about disability awareness and “ELBOW Theory” (experience life by overcoming whatever).

She was the subject of “A Daring Adventure,” (2004) a one hour documentary by Hoel Hockberg that premiered at 20th Century Fox. Karen lives in Sacramento and loves living with her hair blown straight back.
