My two guests this week are inspiring examples of how the younger generations are both learning and promoting sustainability. Trathen Heckman, is Founder of Daily Acts, an organization that has taken community organizing to a whole new level of green awareness. Kathleen Garber, Public Outreach Manager for GreenWaste, is taking the smart recycling message to our schools.

Trathen Heckman, is the Founder of two organizations focused on sustainability and consicousness — Daily Acts and Green Sangha.

Listen to this inspiring young man’s journey as he awoke to greater consciousness and is now supporting and empowering individuals to “be the change.”

Hundreds of people participate in his Daily Acts sustainability tours inspiried by “hot-damn-they’re-fun” projects.

Kathleen Garber

Next, Kathleen Garber tells us how she is taking the green recycling message to the schools from pre-K to high school. Her outreach takes her into the classrooms where she educates our young people on how to think with the end in mind when recycling.
